Getting Started

Step-by-step instructions.

Insert the Eastlink Wireless SIM card into your device and power it on. Your device will guide you through the set up process. If you are asked to connect to a Wifi network during set up it is highly recommended that you do so. This will prevent you from using mobile Data during set up.

Eastlink SIM Card

How to insert an Eastlink Wireless SIM card into your device.

Select your device from the list below and follow the steps.

Place a call to 1-902-414-TEST (8378); you will hear a " Welcome to Eastlink" message. Please send a text message to 1-902-414-TEST(8378); you will receive an auto-reply message from Eastlink "Welcome to Eastlink the SMS test is successful. Free message."

If you chose to have Data as part of your plan try this: Launch the browser and type in http://www.eastlink.ca/Wireless. Eastlink's webpage will display

  1. Insert the SIM removal tool (included in the box) or a small pin into the hole on the SIM tray. The SIM tray is located on the right side of the device.
  2. The SIM card tray will pop out when the SIM removal tool or pin is inserted. Pull the SIM card tray out of the slot.
  3. Place the SIM card in the SIM card tray so that it matches the outline of on the tray,
  4. Push the SIM card tray back into the slot on the device. The hole on the end of the SIM card tray should be closer to the bottom of the device.
  1. Remove the device’s back cover.
  2. Remove the device’s battery.
  3. Located near the top right corner of the battery compartment will be the SD card/SIM card slot. Slide the SIM card into the bottom slot. The SIM card’s writing should be facing up and the end of the SIM card with the cut edge should be facing the top of the device.
  4. Replace the battery. The side with the + and – symbols should be facing up and should line up with the pins in the battery compartment.
  5. Replace the back cover.
  1. Remove the device’s back cover.
  2. Remove the device’s battery.
  3. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot. The SIM card slot will have a SIM card icon marked near it that will show you which direction to place the SIM card in.
  4. Replace the battery. The side with the + and – symbols should be facing up and should line up with the pins in the battery compartment.
  5. Replace the back cover.

  3. Place the SIM card in the SIM card tray so that it matches the outline of on the tray,
  4. Push the SIM card tray back into the slot on the device. The hole on the end of the SIM card tray should be closer to the left side of the device.

  2. The SIM card tray will pop out when the SIM removal tool or pin is inserted. Pull the SIM card tray out of the slot.
  3. Place the SIM card in the SIM card tray so that it matches the outline of on the tray,
  4. Push the SIM card tray back into the slot on the device. The writing on the SIM card should be facing the top of the device,
  1. Remove the device’s back cover.
  2. With the screen side facing down the SIM card slot will be on your right hand side. The SIM card slot will be marked with a tiny SIM card picture. Slide the SIM card into the slot as shown in the picture.
  3. Replace the back cover.
  1. Insert a finger nail in to the bottom corner of the device under the band around the device’s edge. Gently remove the band.
  2. With the screen side facing down: the SIM card slot will be on your right hand side. The SIM card slot will be marked with a tiny SIM card picture. Slide the SIM card into the slot with notched side of the SIM card first and the pad side facing you.
  3. Replace the band.
  1. Remove the device’s back cover.
  2. Remove the device’s battery.
  3. The SIM card slot will be marked with a tiny picture of a SIM card. Slide the SIM card into the slot as shown in the picture.
  4. Replace the battery. The side with the + and – symbols should be facing up and should line up with the pins in the battery compartment.
  5. Replace the back cover.

What you will need:

  • An active local phone number - cell phone or landline number. Your phone number must be in your name
  • Information such as your name, address and account number as printed on the invoice of your current provider
