Katie’s thrilled to have joined the Eastlink TV team!
She grew up in Bridgewater, on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. Her parents knew from a young age that she loved to talk. She would perform for them by putting on dance shows, plays, and concerts (even though she wasn’t very good). Katie was also involved in gymnastics and enjoyed fishing and canoeing with her dad.
It wasn’t until she went in to the local radio station with her step-father on her junior high’s “Take Your Kid to Work Day” where she discovered that talking could become something much more than just annoying her mom. During high school she was offered a weekend position reading news and gracing the South Shore airwaves with her voice.
After high school she took the Radio and Television Arts program at the Nova Scotia Community College’s Waterfront Campus specializing in journalism her second year.
She still enjoys fishing and canoeing but spends time exploring and trying out different restaurants in the city.
Katie hopes she, one day, gets to meet Meryl Streep and to travel the world!
