EastLink WebMail FAQ

WebMail is a web-based email service that allows you to access your Eastlink email account from any computer connected to the Internet.
You can log in to WebMail by using the same email address and password you use for your Eastlink High Speed Internet email account at home or the office.
No. Eastlink's WebMail service is free for all residential and business Eastlink High Speed Internet customers.
Yes. You must either be an Eastlink residential or business High Speed Internet customer to use Eastlink WebMail.
Eastlink uses SSL (Secured Socket Layer) mode to encrypt both access to WebMail and your WebMail session. However, when using WebMail on a public access computer, it is a good idea to clear the web browser's cache after logging out of the service. This will ensure that copies of any attachments viewed during your WebMail session are not left on the public computer's local disk. This can be done in Internet Explorer by selecting "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu and then clicking the "Delete Files" button.
Eastlink provides virus and spam protection on emails sent to and from your Eastlink account, whether accessed through your own computer or via WebMail. Please note - this service does not protect against viruses spread through applications other than e-mail.
To log in to WebMail, you will have to use a valid Eastlink email address and password. This can be the email address and password for any primary or secondary Eastlink email account you have. For instance, if you have three Eastlink email addresses (one primary and two secondary), you can log in to WebMail using any one of those three email addresses along with its associated password. Please remember that you will only be able to read mail for the email address you used to log in.
You can keep as many as 1000 messages for up to 6 months or until your account size reaches 50 megabytes (MB). You will receive a size notification email when your account approaches 50MB.
Yes. You can send and receive attachments through WebMail - provided the size of the message does not exceed 20MB including attachments.
WebMail displays only NEW messages that still exist on the Eastlink email server. Any email messages that you open in your email program (such as Outlook Express) on your home or office computer will not be available for viewing through Eastlink WebMail. (Because they have already been downloaded from the email server and now reside locally on your computer.) We recommend that you keep your email program on your computer closed when you wish to use Eastlink WebMail. By doing this, your messages will not be downloaded to your home or office computer and therefore will be available through Eastlink WebMail.
Your WebMail address book is not connected to the address book you have created through your Eastlink email account on your home or office computer. You will need to create a separate address book directly in your WebMail account.
