Accessibility: How to Enable Described Video
Select an option below for instructions to enable Described Video.
TiVo Stream Customers:
- Step 1: While watching the desired content (Live TV, Recording or OnDemand) press Info
- Step 2: Scroll to Change Audio Track and press OK
- Step 3: The available Audio Tracks will be displayed
- Step 4: If Descriptive Video Service is available for this content you will see Unknown - Dolby Audio or Unknown - Stereo (AAC)
- Step 5: Select Unknown - Dolby Audio or Unknown - Stereo (AAC) and press OK, otherwise press Back
TiVo Stream Mobile App Customers:
- Step 1: While watching the desired content in the TiVo Stream Mobile App, tap the speech bubble icon.
- Step 2: Select ‘Middle English’ (Note: If the channel does not support Described Video, this option will not appear.)
TiVo Customers:
- Step 1: While watching the desired content (Live TV or Recording) press Info
- Step 2: Scroll to Change Audio Track and press OK
- Step 3: The available Audio Tracks will be displayed
- Step 4: If Descriptive Video Service is available for this content you will see Unknown - Dolby Audio or Unknown - Stereo (AAC)
- Step 5: Select Unknown - Dolby Audio or Unknown - Stereo (AAC) and press OK, otherwise press Back
Maestro Customers:
- Step 1: While watching the desired content (Live TV or Recording) press Info
- Step 2: Scroll down to Audio Language
- Step 3: Press the OK button on the remote
- Step 4: Highlight the desired Audio Feed
- DVS will appear in brackets if Descriptive Video Service is available for this content
- Step 5: Press OK
Digital Cable Customers:
- Step 1: On your Eastlink remote control, press Menu twice.
- Step 2: Scroll down to Setup and press OK
- Step 3: Scroll down to Audio Setup and press OK
- Step 4: Scroll down to Descriptive Video Service and use the left/right arrow button and set to ON
- Step 5: Press Exit on the remote
Analog Cable Customers:
- Enabling Described Video (DV) on analog channels via the Secondary Audio Program (SAP) setting on your TV:
- When Described Video (DV) is passed through with an analog channel, it is only accessible on that channel through the use of the SAP feature, which is available on most televisions. The directions for activating the SAP feature will vary by TV brand. Eastlink recommends that customers refer to the owner's manual that came with the TV to program the SAP (sometimes identified as the LANGUAGE setting).
