Getting Started with Installation

A subscription to Eastlink Internet Security Services helps protect against viruses, spyware and other threats for up to 10 PC or MAC computers, tablets and smartphones.

The following information covers the basics on how to begin the installation of the Eastlink Internet Security Services software.

  1. Log in to the Eastlink Internet Security Portal with your account username and password.
  2. Once logged in, click/tap Add device. The Whose device do you want to protect? window appears.
  3. Make sure My device is selected, and click/tap Continue. The Choose device type window appears.
  4. Make sure This computer is selected, and click Download for Windows.
  5. Depending on your browser:
    • The installer file downloads automatically; or
    • You are asked to save the file. If prompted, click Save File.
  6. Press Ctrl+J on your keyboard to open the download folder and find the file.
  7. Click on the installer file (for example, F-Secure-Safe-Network-Installer_xxxxxxxxxxxxx_.exe) to run the installer. If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes. Set-up takes place.
  8. Click Continue when you see Welcome to SAFE.
  9. Click Accept and install to start the installation. If you want to contribute anonymous security data to F-Secure's Security Cloud, leave the box ticked.
  1. Log in to the Eastlink Internet Security Portal with your account username and password.
  2. Once logged in, click/tap Add device. The Whose device do you want to protect? window appears.
  3. Make sure My device is selected, and click/tap Continue. The Choose device type window appears.
  4. Make sure This computer is selected, and click Download for Mac.
  5. Depending on your browser
    • The installer file downloads automatically; or
    • You are asked to save the file. If prompted, click Save File.
  6. When the download is done, open your download folder and run the installer. The setup wizard appears.
  7. On the Install F-Secure SAFE Introduction page, click Continue.
  8. Select for whom you'd like to install F-Secure SAFE, and click Continue.
  9. On the Installation Type page, click Install. You may be required to enter your administrator password. Type in your administrator password and click Install software.
  10. On the Activate window, click Continue to activate. Type in your administrator password again to allow F-Secure to make some changes.
  11. F-Secure SAFE prompts you to install Browsing Protection. Select your internet browser from the drop down menu, and click Install now.
  12. As the installation process may vary from browser to browser, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Browsing Protection installation.
  1. On your iOS device, open the App Store, and search for Eastlink Internet Security Services.
  2. On the results page, tap Eastlink Internet Security Services.
  3. Tap Get or the Cloud icon.
  4. Tap Install.
  5. Once done, tap Open or to begin the set-up.
  6. Tap Accept to accept the terms and conditions. Leave the second box ticked, if you want to allow the app to collect anonymous data to improve the service.
  7. Tap Log in, and type in your Eastlink Internet Security Services credentials. If you don’t have valid Eastlink Internet Security Services, tap Create account to create an account.
  8. Select Me, [your name] to protect your own device, or select My child to set up a child's device.
  9. Tap Continue.
  10. Tap Allow in the Eastlink Internet Security Services would like to send you notifications window.
  11. Tap Always Allow in the Allow Eastlink Internet Security Services to access your location window.
  12. Tap Finish.
  1. On your Android device, open Play Store, and search for Eastlink Internet Security Services.
  2. On the results page, tap Eastlink Internet Security Services.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Once done, tap Open to start the set-up.
  5. Tap Accept to accept the terms and conditions. Leave the second box ticked, if you want to allow the app to collect anonymous data to improve the service.
  6. Do the following:
    • In the Allow Eastlink Internet Security Services to make and manage phone calls window, tap Allow;
    • In the Allow Eastlink Internet Security Services to access photos and media window, tap Allow;
    • In the Allow Eastlink Internet Security Services to access device's location? window, tap Allow.
  7. Tap Log in, and type in your Eastlink Internet Security Services credentials. If you don’t have valid Eastlink Internet Security Services, tap Create account to create an account.
  8. Select Me, [your name] to protect your own device, or select My child to set up a child's device.
  9. Tap Continue. The overview of protection features available with your account appear.
  10. Tap Finish.

Supported Operating Systems:

  • Windows 10 all editions (does not support ARM based tablets)
  • Windows 8.1 all editions (does not support ARM based tablets)
  • Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit: all editions

How can I check which operating system I have?

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Control Panel
  3. Select System and Security
  4. Click System
  5. The OS version will be listed

Hardware Requirements:

  • Processor: Intel Pentium 4 or higher
  • Memory (RAM): 1 GB or more
  • Disk space: 1.2 GB free Disk Space
  • Internet Connection: An Internet connection is required in order to validate your subscription and receive updates
  • Javascript must be enabled in the user's browser settings to enable active blocking of pages

Fully supported browsers for Online Safety:

  • Microsoft Edge (Windows 10)
  • Internet Explorer 9 or above
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest)
  • Google Chrome (latest)
  • ***Online Safety, although not officially supported, may work in browsers not listed above

How can I check which operating system I have?

  1. Click Apple icon in top left corner
  2. Click on About this MAC
  3. The OS version will be listed
