Preparing for your Residential Installation of Eastlink Services

We’re so happy you’ve chosen Eastlink to connect you to your world. As we get closer to your installation date, here are some things you can keep in mind before we arrive, the day of installation, and following your installation.

After we’ve created your account, you will receive a WELCOME email that will outline:

  • Account details (number, billing address, services ordered)
  • Installation appointment date and technician arrival time (ie: Between 8am and 10am)

You can also expect a reminder text or call from us. This is scheduled for 24 hours prior to your appointment.

  • The appointment time noted is when the technician will arrive. Installation will take 1-3 hours depending on what services will be installed.

If you live in an apartment or condo, contact your property manager to arrange access to the Telephone and Cable room.

Determine where your equipment will be placed.

  • Close to a sufficient power supply
  • Clear a path to the area

Ensure equipment and cables are in good working order.

  • Have all cables and power cords handy
  • Consider using a Power Bar/Surge Protector to add additional safety

 

The technician will call when en route to the installation address.

  • Within the appointment window provided in the WELCOME email
  • Allow 1-3 hours for installation once the technician arrives

It’s best if you, or another responsible decision-maker, is available when the technician arrives and for the duration of the installation.

Clear a path on the outside to the entrance, as well as inside to the location of the equipment and power supply.

  • Safely secure any pets for the duration of the installation process

Have necessary equipment, cables and power cords ready and available (ideally in the area where the service will be installed).

The technician will:

  • Install your services
  • Program your remotes
  • Optimize your equipment set up
  • Review how to use products and services
  • Answer any questions you have on the additional services included in your package

Register your account details and email address on Eastlink.ca/myaccount for convenient online access to account details, bills, TV Channel Exchange and more.

7 days from your installation you will receive an email with a helpful video on how to read your billing statement.
